New Framing Projects

Extension in Great Chishill, Hertfordshire

This extension is designed with some historically inspired details but is essentially a contemporary design. It will be infilled with softwood studs and plaster board exposing only the framed primary timbers. The clasped purlin roof uses Elm splines to fix each to its neighbour; this is a Japanese/Korean method of jointing small section timbers together.
